Semi permanent contraception
Question
I have for children aged 5, 4, 2 & 4momth baby. The gap between the children are very little. Me and my wife have decided that we would like a gap before we have any more children as looking after young ones is very demanding and my wife is not able to cope physically and mentally with another child. She would also like to complete the two years of breast feeding or baby for two years and inshaAllah we would like to go hajj hence would like a gap for a few years. Based on the above I would like to know if it is permissable for my wife to take contraception which is a implant in her arm which prevents pregnancies for two or three years. After research this method of contraception seems to be the most safest for the women.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is permissible for your wife to employ this temporary method of contraception.[1]

[1] وَيُكْرَهُ لِلزَّوْجِ أَنْ يَعْزِلَ عَنْ امْرَأَتِهِ الْحُرَّةِ بِغَيْرِ رِضَاهَا؛ لِأَنَّ الْوَطْءَ عَنْ إنْزَالٍ سَبَبٌ لِحُصُولِ الْوَلَدِ، وَلَهَا فِي الْوَلَدِ حَقٌّ، وَبِالْعَزْلِ يَفُوتُ الْوَلَدُ، فَكَأَنَّهُ سَبَبًا لِفَوَاتِ حَقِّهَا، وَإِنْ كَانَ الْعَزْلُ بِرِضَاهَا لَا يُكْرَهُ؛ لِأَنَّهَا رَضِيَتْ بِفَوَاتِ حَقِّهَا
