Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh

Every mother and a child have a natural bond. It is their right to maintain that bond by being in contact with each other. [1]It is prohibited to stop the mother and children from maintaining that bond. This is apart from the fact that Sharīah has emphasized on maintaining family ties. To break family ties and be a cause of breaking family ties is a major sin. The new husband becomes the step father of your children. He should show love and care to your children. Rasūlullāh (Sallāhu Alayhi Wasallam) accepted the children of Ummu Salamah (Radiyallahu Anha) and showed love and care for the children of Ummu Salamah (Radiyallahu Anha). He did not stop Ummu-Salamah (Radiyallahu Anha) from having contact with her children. In fact, Rasūlullah (Sallalāhu Alayhi Wasallam) showed love and care to them and presented a beautiful example of how a step father should deal and treat their stepchildren.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows Best.
