Intention for Salah
Question
assalam o alaikum .My is question about namaz,i want to know that is it necessary to do nyat before starting namaz like 2 rakat namaz farz.
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is necessary to make the intention for the salah one is performing before commencing salah. The intention from the heart is sufficient. It is not necessary to verbally state one’s intention.[1]
And Allah Ta‘ālā Knows Best.
