Is it permissible to work as a Mainframes System Administrator?

Question

Assalamu Alaikum,

I got a job in a IT Company here my supporting client is CAPITAL ONE whcih is a bank.My job is Mainframes system administrator where I will be adding space in storage media of Mainframes storage DISK box and allocate there data in what ever size they want. Here the client stores there data in it and if the data is lost we will restore them. No were I am involved in calculating the interest for the bank. Please advice me can I join the company.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

You state that you are a “Mainframes System Administrator” and your job description includes adding space and allocating data to the storage disk box of a bank (Capital One).

Since the job profile is unrelated to interest/usury, it is permissible for you to accept the employment.
