Aqeeqah
Question
I urgently need to know when should Aqeeqah take place if the child was born on Friday at 4 PM. Should the Friday be counted as one day or not?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
The day the child was born should be calculated for Aqeeqah.[1]
Therefore, since your child was born on a Friday, the seventh day shall be the following Thursday.
