Is it permissible to give away something which was given as a gift?

Question

I received some items as gifts, is it permissible for me to give these items awayin charity or as a gift to someone else?

Answer

In principle, the gifted items belong to you. You may do as you wish with
your possessions (including gifted items).

However, in doing so, you should also consider the feelings of the person
who has honoured you by giving you a gift. If he/she will be offended by
giving away the gift, then it is advisable not do so.
