What is the meaning of Nauman? Can I name my daughter Saleha Firdaus?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

As Muslims, we are advised to keep good names for our children, since the name of a person has an effect on his traits and characteristics.

The name Nauman means a bright red rose firm like blood brothers. (Mosuatil Asmaaih – Uthman Muhammad Ali – pg.- 133)

This was the name of Imam Abu Hanifah (RA) and also the name of a Sahaabi Hadrat Abu Hurairah (RA). (Names for Muslim Children; Ml. Ahmad Mohammad Hathurani – page 82)

The name Saleha (Saaleha) means righteous, honest. (Mosuatil Asmaaih – Uthman Muhammad Ali – pg.- 63)

The name Firdaus  means paradise. (Names for Muslim Children; Ml. Ahmad Mohammad Hathurani – page 68)

It is permissible to give the name Saleha Firdaus to your daughter. Furthermore,  it is also a good name to keep for your daughter.

We make Du’aa you are well. The Darul Iftaa was established in the year 2011. The fundamental objective of the Darul Iftaa is to train Ulama from various parts of the world to become Muftis. In this world of scientific calculations and technological advancements, economic confusion and political disarray, a Mufti is trained to understand and analyze current situations and provide leadership for the Ummah. There is a vacuum  of competent Muftis in various parts of the world. The Ummah lacks leadership. There are currently twelve students who are studying at the Darul Iftaa. There are many Ulama from many parts of the world who have applied to study the Iftaa course. They could not be accommodated due to lack of adequate facilities. The Darul Iftaa has therefore embarked on an expansion project.
