Can I bleach under the eyebrows?

Question

Assalamu Alaykum

Is it permissible for women to bleach underneath and above their

Eyebrows?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Sister in Islam,

Skin whitening, skin lightening and skin bleaching refers to the practice of using chemical substances in an attempt to lighten skin tone or provide an even skin complexion by lessening the concentration of melanin.[1]

According to Shariah, bleaching is permissible.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
