I have recently heard that using hair gel is not permissible as it contains placenta and alchohol. What is the ruling on this and do u know of any gel that does not contain placenta and alcohol.

We are not aware of any hair gel containing placenta and alcohol. We advise
you refer your query to SANHA at halaal@sanha.org.za

They will investigate and inform you accordingly.
