Could you kindly explain what ijtihaad is, who is in a position to make ijtihaad.

Could you kindly explain what ijtihaad is, who is in a position to make ijtihaad. Being a scholar yourself have you ever made ijtihaad on the subject of khilaafah specifically with regards to how we bring about khilaafat according to Quran and Sunnah (methodology)?

Answer

There are many aspects of the Shari'ah that has to be decided by Shura
(mutual consultation). The methodology of establishing Khilafah is one of
the many such aspects.
