Are tampons permissible?
Question
Is it Haram for Muslim women to use tampons during their monthly periods?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is reprehensible for women to use tampons.[1][2]
And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best

وَفِي شَرْحِ الْوِقَايَةِ: وَضْعُ الْكُرْسُفِ مُسْتَحَبٌّ لِلْبِكْرِ فِي الْحَيْضِ وَلِلثَّيِّبِ فِي كُلِّ حَالٍ، وَمَوْضِعُهُ مَوْضِعُ الْبَكَارَةِ، وَيُكْرَهُ فِي الْفَرْجِ الدَّاخِلِ. اهـ وَالْكُرْسُفُ: بِضَمِّ الْكَافِ وَالسِّينِ الْمُهْمَلَةِ بَيْنَهُمَا رَاءٌ سَاكِنَةٌ الْقُطْنُ. وَفِي اصْطِلَاحِ الْفُقَهَاءِ: مَا يُوضَعُ عَلَى فَمِ الْفَرْجِ
(و يكره وضغه) اي: وضع جميعه (في الفرج الداخل) لانه يشبه النكاح بيدها، "محيط".
