Please can you provibe clarity as to what exactly was the Buraaq?

In the name of Allāh, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalāmu ῾alaykum wa Rahmatullāhi Wabarakātuh

The Burāq was the animal used by Rasulullah Sallalahu álayhi Wa Sallam on the night of Mírāj, on which he travelled from Makkah Mukarama to Baytul Maqdis (known today as Palestine). From this point on, Rasulullah Sallalahu álayhi Wa Sallam ascended the heavens with Hazrat Jibreel álayhi Salaam.

Burāq was a unique animal, it was white in colour, smaller than a horse and larger than a mule and it travelled at an unimaginable speed.

Hazrat Anas Radhiyallahu ánhu reports that Rasulullah Sallalahu álayhi Wa Sallam said:

"I came with Burāq, it is a white animal, smaller than a horse and larger than a mule; its hooves reaches the extent of its sight. I rode it and it travelled with me until I arrived at Baytul Maqdis. Then I tied it on the ring on which the Prophets used to tie their animals." ( Tafseer ibni katheer pg4 vol.3 Darul Mufeed)

عن أنس بن مالك رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال أتيت بالبراق وهو دابة أبيض فوق الحمار ودون البغل يضع حافره عند منتهى طرفه فركبته فسار بي حتى أتيت بيت المقدس فربطت الدابة بالحلقة التي يربط فيها الأنبياء
