Is it permissible to pray in the dark or is it preferable to have the light on?

Answer

Both procedures, praying in darkness and in light are mubaah (permissible).
The general priciple of mubaah is that it should not be expressly or
indicatively (for examlpe imposing the act and reproaching people not
carrying out the act) regarded as necessary.
