Is salaam said to those you only know a sign of the day of judgement?

Question

I read somewhere that one of the signs of they day of judgementis that salaam will be said to those you know only.I read that it was a Ahmad hadith, and I never heard of it before so I wanted to make sure.

Answer

The Hadith is narrated by Haakim in Mustadrak (vol.4 pg.524), ibn Khuzaymah (Hadith1326) and Bayhaqi (Hadith3146) and has been classified as authentic by Hafiz al-Dhahabi [ra].
