A friend recently converted and I am teaching him Hanafi Fiqh. He has been Muslim for 3 months, when does he first have to pay zakat, now or after being Muslim 1 year?

Answer

Zakat on his assets will be due only one year after accepting Islam. However, if he discharges it before the completion of one year, it will be valid.
