My question is that is Zakat is paid on the amount above the Nisab Level or the whole amount Nisab the extra amount?

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh
Zakat is paid at 2 ½ % on the full amount, Nisab and the extra amount.
And Allah Ta'ala Knows Best
