Please clarify with authentic Ahadeeth that how many Rakah for Taraweeh is to be performed?

Please clarify with authentic ahadees that how many rakah for taraweeh is to be performed.

As some perform eight(8) and some 20.As i follow Hanafi School,what shoudl i do if in area where
am residing in all masajid taraweeh is of 8 rakah.

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh

You should definitely perform 20 rak‘ats of Tarāwīh. For more detailed information, kindly visit the following link:

If there are no Masjids in your locality performing 20 rak‘ats, you can join them for the 8 rak‘ats and perform the remaining 12 individually at home.
