In Islam is revenge allowed?

Question

I have read somewhere 'the best among you is the one who takes revenge then forgives?' Is this right and in what sense?

Answer

Almighty Allah Ta'ala says, 'And whosoever make Sabr and forgives, verily,
that is from among the deeds of courageous people.'

and Allah Ta'ala Knows Best
