For one who doesn't have a full time job, works on and off and has debts but got quite valuable wedding jewelery, is zakaat obligatory?
Question
On that jewelery and other valuables i.e computer.
Answer
If the liabilities exceed the jewellery, then there is no Zakaat. If the
jewellery is more than the liabilities, then if the excess if equivalent or
more than the value of Nisaab, then Zakaat is compulsory on that amount.
