What is the ruling about wedding rings for husband and wife?

Question

Is it permissible for both husband and wife to wear wedding rings? Or is it for the wife only to wear? Or is it that neither should wear it?

Answer

It is permissible for a female to adorn herself with any kind of wedding
ring, gold, silver, etc.

The use of gold is not permissible for males. However, a silver ring
equivalent to 4.5 mashas only (67.5 grains troy) is permissible for males.
