Mufti saab ,

Is it permissible to study other religion books for dawah purposes like hindu or christian books , even though we are not aalims.

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh

It is advisable to obtain literature of Ulama who dealt with issues of Hindus and Christians for da`wah purposes. Marhoom Ahmad Deedat (Rahmatullahi Alaihi) benifitted by reading the Izharul Haq of Moulana Kiranwi (Rahmatullahi Alaihi). He acknowledged this in many of his publications.

And Allah knows best

Wassalam
