Question
Please tell me:
1) whether it is permitted in Islam for men to pray salat (namaz) while wearing half-sleeves T-shirts with their elbows uncovered and exposed;
2) what is the maximum number of days within which men have to shave their pubic regions for cleanliness and praying for salat purposes; and
3) I have got some strands of hair growing on my penis shaft which I haven't shaved for the past 4-5 years so please tell me whether the shaving areas for men in Islam include shaving hairs on the penis shaft for the performance of salat (prayers) and cleanliness reasons?
Answer
1) It is makrooh to perform Salaah with half sleeves and T-Shirts as the forearms will be open.
2) The pubic hair should not exceed 40 days or the length of a rice grain.
3) The hair on the shaft is not included.
