I have named my sons Raumaan, Johaar (Jauhar) and Zuhayr.......
Question
I have named my sons Raumaan, Johaar (Jauhar) and Zuhayr.
PLease give me the meanings of each and whether they were companions of the Prophet (Peace be Upon Him) (SWA)
Also, if they were companions, can you tell me a bit of their lives and achivements towards deen.
Answer
Roomaan was the name of a great Sahabi more popularly known as Safina radhiyallahu anhu.(taj al-Aroos Pg.7740 Maktabah al-Shamilah) He was a very brave Sahabi and participated in many expeditions. He was the freed slave of Nabi sallalahu alaihi wa sallam.
Jauhar means jewel/matter/element. After researching the books on the biographies of the Sahaba radhiallahu anhu, we were unable to locate a Sahabi with this name. (usd al-ghabah, al-Isabah)
Zuhayr means bud/small flower. There are over twenty Sahaba that have shared this name. (al-Isabah)
