Question

i  live in a joint family system  in which 2 of my brother in laws are living with us , i do shar,i parda  i.e do niqaab in home when non mahrams of home are around , the family doesnt respect my parda except my husband  , my brother in laws are freely moving in house  e.g in kitchen etc where it is very difficult for me to maintain my parda . can i ask my husband to have a separate aprtment near his family house so that he can help and serve  his parents and at the other side for me it is easier to maintain parda

how do i convince him for SEPARATE HOUSE without hurting him and his parents . PLUS WE ARE WELL OFF ALHAMDULLIAH AND CAN OFFORD SEPARATE APARTMENT AS WELL

Answer

Muhtaram

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu

If your husband is well off and he can provide you with a separate apartment where you can observe purdah from non-Mahrams, then it is necessary for your husband to make that arrangement for you. He will be answerable in the Court of Allah for the violation of the Laws of purdah if he does not make that arrangement for you.
