we did intercourse in my periods..so what shud i do to make this up.i knw that we do wrong and its not permissible

my husband works in america and i live in canada.he came home after 4 months for just one week and when he came back i had periods.so we cudnt do nethng but my husband cudnt hold himself so we did intercourse in my periods..so what shud i do to make this up.i knw that we do wrong and its not permissible

Answer

It is a major sin to have intercourse during menses. Both of you should make Tawbah (repent) and also offer some Sadaqah (charity) as a form of compensation for the sin.
