Baby without spinal cord?

Question

I saw a baby born without spinal cord , doctors said baby will never live like normal baby, so kill him, then baby's parents got idea from local scholar he also said kill him with medicine because life would be very painful for baby. tell me it was right or wrong?

Answer

It was Haraam and strongly prohibited to kill the baby. That is a crime and a major sin. The child being without a spine or any abnormality does not permit such a heinous crime.
