Question
1. I am Hanafi and i was told by a learned Alim that when in Salat during athiyaat you can raise the index finger during "il-lallah" and reamain raising untill the end of Salat he said their are hadiths to back it up, is it permissible. to to this?
2. Please tell meh is there a dua to recite to see the Prphet SAW in ones dream?
3. Is it permissible to use a razor to shave ones moustache?
4. What are the concequences for eating shrimp?
Answer
1. No, the index finger must be lowered whilst saying ‘illallaah’ and not kept upright. The presence of a Hadith that apparently contradicts our Madhab should not be a concern of a layman like you. You are merely obliged to adhere to whatever your Ulama tell you.
2. It is Makrooh-e-Tahrimi. In other words, almost Haraam. Notwithstanding the technical difference, you should abstain.
3. According to Seeratul Mustafa, the enemy numbered about 200,000 whilst the Muslims were just 3000 in number. In spite of this relatively small number, the Muslims repulsed and defeated this apparently overwhelming force of 200,000.
4. Adherence to his Sunnah will, Insha Allah, enable you to see him in a dream.
5. If the other more stressed Sunnats are being fulfilled by these youth, they may lengthen their hair according to the Sunnah length.
6. By Da’wah and Tableegh, he means Amr bil Ma’roof and Nahy anil Munkar (enjoining good and forbidding evil). This has been enjoined upon us in many Aayaat of the Qur’aan and Ahaadith of Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam].
