Question

should we say 'sallallaahu alayhi wasallam' or 'sallallaahu alayhi wa alehi wasallam' ? Is the latter correct/more virtuous or is it innovation?

Answer

Both forms of Salaat and Salawaat (peace and salutations) are correct. The second has an addition of the family of Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] and is more virtuous.
