is it allowed to take contraceptive measures, in light of the fact that we'll be going to Hajj this year

I got married four months back, me & my wife are planning to perform Hajj this year Inshallah.

My question is;

is it allowed to take contraceptive measures, in light of the fact that we'll be going to Hajj this year Inshallah keeping in view the hardships faced during Hajj, are we allowed to restrain for sake of child's & mother's health as it would be our first child, we don't know how the pregnancy would be like??
