Is suicide bombing permisable?

Question

With regards to jihad in the path of Allah (swt)... Is suicide bombing permisable? How authentic is the hadith(s) that those who carry out suicide bombing and those who encourage it use to validate this act? In light of recent events that have rocked the western world a fatwa would be appropiate regarding this method of fighting.

Answer

Suicide bombing is not permissible.
