Is it necessary for the people from the bridegroom's side to bear 100% expenses for the walimah after nikah

Question

Is it necessary for the people from the bridegroom's side to bear 100% expenses for the walimah after nikah or can the expenses be shared by the people from both the bridegroom & the brides's side 50-50. I wud appreciate if u can reply soon.

Answer

The Walimah after marriage is Sunnah and encouraged in Islam. It is the responsibility of the bridegroom to bear the expenses of the Walimah. The bride’s party should not be burdened with the expenses or part of the expenses for the Walimah.
