Question

I wanted to know whether it is compulsory for a wife to have sexual intercourse with her husband on their wedding night, ie the day before her walima. My aunty told me thay my walima will not be halaal if I did not have sexual intercourse with my husband on the night before my walima. Please answer this question. I am really confused. Is there any evidence from Hadith / Quran that supports this view. Please answer this question.

Answer

Sexual intercourse is not necessary for the Walimah to be valid.
