"Can males wear white gold (platinum) instead of gold"

Question

I want to know "Can males wear white gold (platinum) instead of gold" (I am not sure whether white gold and platinum are the same thing or not...that's why i am asking this question)

Answer

It is not permissible for males to use rings of any metal, gold, platinum, etc. However, a silver ring equivalent to 4.5 Mashas (67.5 grains troy) is permissible.
