Is there a ruling concerning women's hair when she's on her period?

Question

Should a woman in her period keep her hair with her until she gets purifies and washes the hair? Are we allowed to throw out hair away or must we bury them? Is it a sin if we leave our hair in an open area? Please benefit us from your knowledge..

Answer

It is makrooh to remove any portion of the body (nails, hair etc.) during impurity (periods, janabat).

The unwanted hair and nails should be respectfully disposed of at a secluded area.
