Question
However, the company sometimes takes part in Church, buddist tample construction project. I work in a chinese company which involves mainly in Underground Construction. As being the part of design team, I also have to involve in building process. I seek your ruling on this issue.
Answer
It is permissible to be involved in the construction of churches and temples. However, we offer you the following advice.
A person is affected with his surrounding and job. If a person is working in a healthy environment, then his outlook of life will be clean and healthy. However, if he works in an environment that promotes evil and shirk that too will have an effect of the person. When a person is involved in a construction of a church or temple, it will require him to liase with the ministers or priests of the church. This interaction in some way or the other. If it is possible for you to engage in some other construction in which your Deen will not be affected, it will be advisable and better to do so. (Shaami vol.6 Pg. 324 H M Saeed)
