I support my Mother, 4 brothers. By paying rent,lights basic living expenses. May I give Zakkat money or use it to pay the rent. What is the critera for a person to except zakaat?

Answer

It is permissible for a person to give Zakaat to his brothers, not his mother. You could give the full rent on behalf of your brothers. You could also give your brothers Zakaat monies for their living expenses.

It will also be permissible for your mother to stay in the house free of any obligations.
