Someone working in an insurace company gives you money(gift). can you use it?

Answer

If all the income of the person is from Haraam, then accepting such a gift would not be permissible.

If part of the income of the person is halaal,then if you know that this gift was from the Halaal income then you could accept it.

If you are unaware of whether it is from the halaal portion or the haraam one, then if the major portion of his income is halaal, you may accept it otherwise not.(Ahsanul Fatawa Vol.8 Pg.103)
