Vitamin K at child birth, allowed in sharia?

Question

Is the Vitamin K drug administered at child birth, allowed in sharia? many hospitals administer this as soon as a child is born, within the hour? also what is it maderived of Jazak'Allah khair

Answer

According to our information, the vitamin k drug is used as a preventative for the child from bleeding.

It is permissible to give the drug to the child.
