Are female relatives aloud to talk to their nonmahram relatives whilst they are in complete purda just to keep unity among the family?

Are female relatives aloud to talk to their nonmahram relatives whilst they are in Respected mufti sahib complete purda just to keep unity among the family? If they make Salams to you are we allowed to answer?

Answer

It is not permissible to talk to non-Mahram family members.

Indeed maintaining unity is an important injunction of Shari?ah as well, however, that is without violating other laws of Allah. If male family members make salaam, you may reply to the salaam softly.
