During my idda can I go for a work in office?

Question

Asalaam Alykum, I'm a working lady in Kuwait. After 4 years seperation from my husband I recd. writen talaq by from my husband during my vacation peiod to my country.as I have no brother or father and my mother belongs to me, i came back to my work, could you please let me know how can I observe my iddat? during these three months idda can I go for work as before? will be v.greatful for your fatwa.

Answer

According to the Shari?ah, it is your husband?s responsibility to maintain you. If he does not maintain you and there is no alternate way to support yourself, then you may go to work and return home immediately.
