What naming convention should be used according to Islam for SURNAMES or FAMILY NAMES for BOYS and GIRLS?

Question

e.g. does the child?s name have to carry the father?s name, if so what part (first, middle, or last) of the father?s name? Pls. explain in detail.

Answer

According to the Shari?ah, a child will be attributed to the father in lineage.

The child will be named after the father?s family or surname.
