How long before the time for Maghrib salaat starts is it okay to offer Asr salaat?

Answer

Asr Salaat commences upon the shadow of any object extending twice its size
besides the shadow of that object during Zawaal and Asr time terminates upon
sunset.

The Mustahabb time for Asr is till the sun is so bright that one is unable
to keep his eyes fixed on the sun. It is Mustahabb to perform Asr Salaat
after the sun loses its brightness.
